Nicola McDougall – Editor – thefemaleinvestor.com.au

Nicola is an award-winning property journalist, business owner, successful property investor, and a board member of the Property Investment Professionals of Australia.

She is the co-author of The Female Investor: Creating wealth, security, and freedom through property, which will be published by Wiley in early April 2022.

She is also the former editor of Australian Property Investor magazine and is the co-founder of Bricks & Mortar Media, a specialist property and finance communications firm. Nicola has been involved in property research, analysis, and reporting since 2006.

With a master’s degree in creative writing, it’s fair to say that Nicola loves telling stories, but she loves hearing other people’s, too.

When she’s not writing, you can find her in a dragon boat or an outrigger canoe on the Sunshine Coast with her family.

If you love walking through a home store, paging through interior design magazines and watching property flipping shows, then you already know a little about Werine.

She has renovated many properties over the years and been featured in Australian Property Investor as well as out media outlets.

Werine’s mission is to help female renovators avoid common mistakes by sharing the knowledge she’s learned through her own experience.

She’s learned so much that she’s written a book to help as many would-be renovators as possible follow their dreams.

Kate Hill – Property Buyer and Founder – Adviseable  

Kate is an avid property investor with many years firsthand experience buying and researching real estate. She founded Adviseable after many years as a property coach and mentor.

She is the co-author of The Female Investor: Creating wealth, security, and freedom through property, which will be published by Wiley in early April 2022.

An accomplished Qualified Property Investment Adviser (QPIA), Kate has facilitated hundreds of successful property investment purchases. She has also featured prolifically in the national media, commenting on TV, the press, radio, and podcasts.

Kate has a significant and growing property investment portfolio herself, and her personal philosophy is simple: “Focus on results, and always buy property with maximum growth potential”.

When she’s not immersed in research material in an effort to uncover the latest property investment hot-spots, Kate enjoys competing in ocean swim events, long distance running, cinema, and relaxing with a good book.

Tina Howes, Mortgage & Finance Advisor – SmartMove

Tina is a Mortgage and Finance Advisor at Smartmove with over 15 years’ experience in the Banking and Finance Industry ranging from lending to individuals to small business and large corporates.

She loves the choice that she can offer clients by having access to so many lenders. Tina loves being able to guide my clients throughout the whole process of arranging finance, leveraging off my experience to best structure your application, and make what can sometimes be a complex process simple.

In the commercial lending space, she have extensive experience in many industries, but in particular, aged care, property development and investment, franchises, manufacturing, international trade, and childcare.

On a personal note, Tina loves the great outdoors, keeping healthy and cooking. On the weekends, you’ll find her at the beach, camping, riding her mountain bike, or at the snow.

Eliza Owen – Head of Residential Research Australia – CoreLogic

Eliza has a wealth of experience in property data analysis and reporting. She worked as an economist at Residex, a research analyst at Domain Group and previously as the commercial real estate and construction analyst at CoreLogic.

She specialises in descriptive and inferential data analysis, data visualisation and framing data trends with broader economic concepts.

Alongside her career in property data and research, Eliza is passionate about explaining economic concepts to broader audiences. She unpacked housing affordability on the TEDX stage and has been a regular commentator for The Sydney Morning Herald, The Age, the ABC and commercial radio and television.

Eliza is also a popular keynote speaker, having presented to thousands in real estate, construction, banking and finance and property development, as well as consumer audiences.

Louisa Sanghera – Director – Zippy Financial

Louisa talks to people with big financial dreams and helps them to make them real. They tell her their current financial positions, and together they draw up plans on how to best achieve their target investment goals on time – even ahead of time.

Louisa is a multi-award-winning broker helping individuals and families achieve their property investment goals and build healthy property portfolios. She has many years’ experience arranging financial transactions to help both new and seasoned investors make the right decisions in personal and commercial finance – from home loan and vehicle finance to business and asset finance.

When she is not catering to her clients or speaking at financial events, Louisa is out there enjoying theatre and musicals, trying out top restaurants, and traveling with her husband Sal and their two beautiful 15- and 16-year-old kids, who are her world.
